SecretPlace Impostor operates on a completely local-first architecture. All game logic, theme packs, progression tracking, and achievement calculations execute on-device without any network dependency. This design choice eliminates lag, ensures privacy, and allows gameplay in airplane mode, remote locations, or anywhere internet access is unavailable.
The hold-to-reveal card system is optimized for rapid sequential access. Each player picks up the phone, holds their card area, views their role privately, then passes to the next person. This cycle completes in under 30 seconds even with 16 players. The timer begins only after all roles are distributed, ensuring fair round duration regardless of group size.
XP accumulates across all game modes and is saved locally. Players climb from Level 1 to Level 100, unlocking avatars, reveal-card visual styles, and five app color themes along the journey. The achievement system tracks 100-plus objectives sorted into bronze, silver, gold, and diamond difficulty tiers. All unlocks persist through app updates and device restarts without cloud dependency.
